circa 1870, with octagonal 4 3/4in. barrel, scroll engraving to barrel-throat, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, notch rear-sight to top of recoil shield, slide-forwards action operated by large compound linkage under-lever forming the trigger-guard, scroll engraved plain stepped cylinder, scroll engraving to action sides, smooth walnut grips, steel butt-cap with provision for lanyard ring (missing), 'in the white' finish, worn with staining
